The Honeywell Solaris 7980G is designed expressly for elevating checkout throughput, thus improving the customer experience. With it's compact and modern design, coupled with powerful imaging capabilities, the 7980G fits easily into any existing enclosures, and has primary use in high-volume retail checkout environments such as a convenice, drug, specialty, liquor and grocery stores.
The Solaris incorporates Honeywell's Adaptus™ 6.0 area-imaging technology, allowing the scanner to deliver exceptional scanning performance on any 1D & 2D barcode, and even boasts the ability to read from smartphone screens, digital wallets and printed identification cards. Omni-directional scanning capability, as well as an advanced depth of field and decoding software, allows cashiers to scan virtually all barcodes on first pass, with minimal concern for orientation or barcode print quality.
Installing the Honeywell Solaris 7980G into existing solutions is a breeze. Multiple on-board interfaces make the 7980G compatible with most POS systems, and automatic interface detection speeds up installation. A handheald scanner can be connected via a multi-function USB auxilary port, providing a single point of communication. The 1980G further simplifies integration by drawing power directly through USB, eliminating the need for an additional power supply and cabling.
